The Jeep Commander is a powerful three-row SUV with seven-passenger seating produced from 2005 to 2010. Though now discontinued, its comfort, style, power, and value that it brings to the table helps continue the legacy of a legendary vehicle that will be remembered for years to come. Three engines are offered for the Jeep Commander upon its release in 2005 - a 5.7L 330 hp V8 eight-cylinder with Multi-Displacement System, a 4.7L 235 hp SOHC Power Tech V8 eight-cylinder, and a 3.7L 210 hp SOHC Power Tech V6 six-cylinder, with a 3.0L 218 hp V6 six-cylinder diesel engine offered only outside of the North American region beginning in 2006. The Jeep Commander sees an upgrade of its larger sized V8 engines to a 4.7L 305 hp (in 2008 and 2009) and a 5.7L 360 hp (in 2009 and 2010). All engines come joined to a five-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD. Combined fuel efficiency is estimated at 6.3 to 6.8 km/l.
Standard features on the 2006 model year of the Jeep Commander include dual density foam seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and six-speaker audio system. Safety features such as front, rear and third row head airbags, stability control and electronic brakeforce distribution arrive as standard.
