El Mazda Familia tiene una larga historia como un modelo básico entre las filas de Mazda. Hay dos tipos de motores a gasolina: DOHC de 16 válvulas de cuatro en línea de 2.0L y 170CV (FS), y otro DOHC de 1.5L y 130CV (ZL). Las suspensiones son de puntal independiente para las 4 ruedas.
