Entering production in 2001, the Hyundai Terracan makes a massive statement as the manufacturer's beefiest and most powerful SUV up until its discontinuation in 2007. For its 1st generation from 2001 to 2004, the Terracan's boxy and rugged frame houses either a 2.9L Common Rail Diesel inline four-cylinder which makes 150 hp (or 163 hp for AWD), or a regular petrol 3.5L V6 six-cylinder engine with an output of 194 hp. Both 4AT and 5MT are available. The Terracan received a makeover in 2004 for its 2nd generation that sees a change in headlights and front grill, with its lineup of engines remaining unchanged. The Terracan achieves estimated fuel efficiencies of 6.6 km/l for the petrol model, and 11.5 km/l for the diesel model.
