Who Makes Hyundai Cars?

SUVs

Hyundai's first foray into the SUV category was with the Santa Fe in 2000. Functional and reliable, the Santa Fe made waves in the American and European markets. In South Korea, the extended wheelbase version of the Santa Fe is known as the Maxcruz. Since its release in 2018, the mid-sized crossover Palisade has replaced the Maxcruz as Hyundai's flagship SUV.

Sandwiching the Santa Fe are the smaller Tucson and the larger Veracruz. The compact crossover Tucson is Hyundai's forerunner in sales with more than 7 million units sold worldwide thanks to its outstanding value, whereas the Veracruz, in production from 2006 to 2015, was Hyundai's largest crossover SUV capable of seating up to seven.

Sedans

Topping Hyundai's list of popular sedans is the Avante, known outside of South Korea as the Elantra. The Avante is a compact car that comes in five-door bodies for its second and third generations, and also as a two-door coupe for its fifth generation.

Though not quite achieving the same sales as the Avante, the Sonata is another popular sedan, as well as one of Hyundai's longest-lasting models.
