The Mitsubishi FTO is a compact but stylish coupe in wide-low 2-door shape. Two types of engines available; 1.8-Liter in-line-four DHOC (Double Overhead Cam) gasoline (E-DE2A) 125ps/16.5kgm and 2.0-Liter V6 DOHC gasoline 180ps/19.5kgm. The transmissions are 5-speed manual or 5(4)-speed AT with drive train FF(Front Engine Front Drive). 5-speed AT has a sequential mode called "INVECS-II". The suspensions are MacPherson strut in front and multi-link in rear. Safety devices are dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) for all models. The high-performance type is called GP version R equipped with a sport suspension, Helical LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and big rear air-spoiler.
