FORD EXPLORER

The Ford Explorer has made a name for itself in the international market. It's the successor to the Bronco II back in 1990. It is now on its 5th generation model which was introduced in 2011. The latest model is powered with a V6 DOHC 3.5L engine for optimum power. The Explorer evolved throughout the years with various weight reduction technologies in the body and the engine. The standard model Explorer has a 4WD system but in 2012, a 2WD version was introduced. The transmission is automatic, except for November 1996 to April 1998 models, which have a manual transmission (MT) option. Some Ford Explorer models come with EcoBoost technology, to help improve fuel efficiency rates, which can range between 7.6km/l and 8.1km/l. Different trims come with specialized equipment that can include a knee airbag for the passenger seat, as well as a heated steering wheel for the driver. Other standard features that come with the Explorer include alloy wheels, power steering, air conditioning, anti-lock brakes and airbags. Some models offered may come with a spare tire and jack.
