It was produced from 2002 to 2006 but is rumored to make a reappearance. The Subaru Baja's exterior design pays tribute to rally-race trucks and is unlike any other pickup truck on the market. The Baja comes with an ample-sized passenger cab that's capable of seating four in addition to the driver. The 1.05 m long open bed comes with a Switchback system that can be extended to 2.3 m by folding the rear passenger seats down. Engines for the Baja are either a 2.5 L inline four-cylinder gasoline capable of 165 hp or its turbocharged version that makes 210 hp, either of which is mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.

The Baja's rich list of features includes off-road lighting, flip-up cargo bed seating, leather seating, and a good number of storage options such as rear seat center position, rigid hinged storage compartment, rear-seat center storage net, and map-pockets at the rear of each front seat.
